








Tumeric is a yellow spice used extensively in Indian cooking. Curcumin, an extract of tumeric, has been found to be beneficial for neurodegenerative diseases including EAE, an animal model of multiple sclerosis.
Tumeric is a rhizome, like ginger only brilliant orange. The scientific name for the plant is Curcuma domestica Loir.
Tumeric/curcumin can be obtained in capsule form.
