The mayor of Georgetown has stepped down, saying the job affected her health, News 4 reports.
Mayor Lynn Granger has multiple sclerosis, and says she has had to pay the expense of hiring an attorney as a result of an investigation into a former city administrator.
That person is under investigation for allegedly falsifying information on a federal grant application.
Granger says her disease, and stress from the job, are taking a physical
and financial toll on her and her family.
