In late September 2002, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission
(ACCC) launched legal action against Michael Desveaux. Desveaux is the
businessman behind the www.transformation2012 .com.au web site. The site
is designed to sell around 13 products, which claim to cure or alleviate
illnesses including acquired immune deficiency syndrome, cancer, hepatitis
and multiple sclerosis. The ACCC has petitioned the Federal Court for a
temporary order to prevent Desveaux from linking the products with health
claims. The matter will be taken before court from 25 September 2002.
