Possible association of Chlamydia pneumoniae and multiple sclerosis is the subject of recent interest.

The findings concerning the isolation of the agent from CSF and tissue from postmortem brain are controversial, similarly as absorption of oligoclonal bands in CSF by this antigen.

The hypothesis should be further studied to establish whether an association of Ch. pneumoniae with MS exists or not.
