Dundee have confirmed Javier Artero will resume his playing career in a couple of weeks after finding out he has Multiple Sclerosis.

A spokesman for the Tayside outfit said this morning: "We expect Javier to be back in Scotland before the end of the month.

"We understand he has a mild form of this disease and can expect to be back playing for the club in the second half of this season.

"Our manager Ivano Bonetti has told the player he has to concentrate on getting his health back and not to worry about playing football."

No doubt former Dundee defender Brian Irvine will be able to explain to the likeable Spaniard how he has managed to overcome his problems with MS to keep his career at Aberdeen, Dundee and Ross County continuing.
