Actor David Lander on His Struggle With MS
David Lander played the role of Squiggy on Laverne and Shirley
Hollywood actor David Lander, best known for his portrayal of Squiggy
on the TV sitcom Laverne and Shirley, joins a live chat on ABCNEWS.com
on Thursday, Sept. 14, at 3:30 p.m. ET.
In June of 1984, Lander was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis after
recurring episodes of weakness in his legs. For 15 years, he kept the diagnosis
a secret, fearing it would hurt his acting career.
Fall Down, Laughing is the story of Lander's courageous struggle with MS. In his new book, Lander tells how he tried everything to improve his condition: exercise programs, alternative medicine, support groups - even designer drugs.
Tune in Thursday to Lander's appearance on Good Morning America and
then join our chat at 3:30 p.m. ET. Also joining us will be Dr. Nancy Holland,
Vice President of Clinical Programs for the National Multiple Sclerosis
Society.
Post your questions now for David Lander and Nancy Holland. Remember,
though, that you won't see your messages until our moderator posts them
live on the Web site.
