A group of sixty advocacy and patient support groups has teamed up to focus public attention on the personal and societal impacts of neurological diseases. Its main tool is a website, www.thebrainmatters.org, which provides profiles of seven people living with neurological diseases and resources for others seeking help and information. Organized by the American Academy of Neurologys Education and Research Foundation, the consortiums goal is to assist millions of people with stories of hope and a central source for help with specific neurological diseases.
Member groups range from the ALS Association to WE MOVE (Worldwide Education and Awareness for Movement Disorders).
