More than 300 letters were submitted for the KGBT 4 and M&R Jewelers Amazing Mom contest.

But one moved us all. It's about a woman who faces many obstacles every day -- but keeps going for her family.

Wen Action 4 News comes walking down the drive-way with your husband and daughter get ready to hear, "surprise! Happy Mother's Day."

Ana Maria Garza didn't suspect a thing especially that her husband JC won the "4 Your Mother" contest and the thousands of dollars in fabulous prizes.

Ana Maria has had many surprises in her lifetime. Early on in her marriage she almost gave up hope of having children and was considering adoption.

"A miracle fell upon us when you became pregnant. Remember you became pregnant?", her husband tells her as he recites by memory the winning letter he wrote.

The couple went on two have two more children, but the stress of child birth brought on another surprise that wasn't so wonderful.

"A year and a half later you were diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis."

Now Ana spends her days with her children at home.

"Staying home with our kids was the biggest thing for us for our kids to be educated full of love, you did - we have wonderfully healthy children."

Their oldest - Jennifer - encouraged her dad to write to the letter.

"I wanted to do this for her because she loves me a lot and I love her very much too," Jennifer says.

"We love you honey and we want you to have the focus. Happy Mother's day!"

"It's a big surprise. I think the world of him and my kids not just today but everyday. I thank God for all for of my blessings," says a tearful, but grateful Ana.

JC had to tell a little lie to stay home Friday morning. He was grateful his principal at Berta Cabaza Middle School let him take the morning off so he could be in on the surprise.

Among the gifts Ana received a $6500 diamond ring and earring set from M&R Jewelers of McAllen.

She also received a $640 gift certificate for a day at Avalon Spa and Salon in McAllen.

She and JC will spend a three day weekend at the Renaissance Casa de Palmas Hotel in McAllen. They'll also enjoy dinner and breakfast for two at the Spanish Room Restaurant.

She also received a dozen roses from Bluebonnet Flowers and an 8 by 10 photo from Leal's Studio.
