The journal Nature Neuroscience has produced a special issue called, "Scaling up Neuroscience," that champions the use of large-scale methods for solving today's neurological research challenges. (This is something we at the Boston Cure Project strongly support and are helping to enable through our large-scale tissue bank.)
Thanks to funding from the NIH, access to the articles is available
for free on the Web. Of particular relevance to MS is an article
discussing the use of microarray technology in neurological diseases.
Also interesting is this joint
statement contributed by six NIH institute directors, who list areas
where scaling up is particularly needed and hint at how the NIH will participate
in this.
