The German and Polish governments are to fund joint neurological and neuropsychiatric research with around three million euro over the next three years.
Some 13 research teams were selected by a board of experts following a joint call for tenders. Work will begin in June.
It is hoped that the research will provide new insights into Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
The two governments are also hoping that the collaboration will lead
to the establishment of new links between German and Polish researchers.
The creation of such networks is also intended as a contribution towards
the creation of a European Research Area.
