Sailing on the ocean with a disabling disease takes a strong wind and good navigational skills.
It also takes a little moxie.
The word "moxie" means pluck, perseverance or guts.
Sailor Nick Bryan-Brown is getting the annual Moxie Award from the New England Multi-hull Association in Boston.
The 50-year-old lifelong sailor has multiple sclerosis.
Since he was diagnosed in 1989, Bryan-Brown has competed in several ocean-going races.
The association presents the award each year to a sailor with the most
moxie.
