Coeur d'Alene _ Kootenai County sheriff's officials are warning residents that recent phone solicitations for donations could be a scam.
Solicitors are trying to get people to donate money through the Multiple Sclerosis Society to Wishing Star Foundation, officials said.
And, while these are worthy causes, the Multiple Sclerosis Society is not soliciting donations for the Wishing Star Foundation, officials said.
Sheriff's officials urge people to get a name and a call-back number
for organizations seeking donations. If callers are unwilling to provide
that information, it's not wise to send them money, officials said.
