The campaigning organisation Disability Awareness in Action have organised an election rally and a short march in Westminster, London on Saturday 31 March 2001, starting at 1:30pm.
The purpose of the event is for MPs to tell us what the political parties are offering disabled people should they win the next election. One of the things Disability Awareness in Action will be asking for is a commitment to protect disabled people's right to live and receive equal access to health care treatment. This is a golden opportunity for people with MS to remind the political parties yet again that people with MS have a right to healthy and fulfilling lives.
Jooly's Joint will be taking part in the march, and we will be accompanied by our houseband Paseo Malanga.
Paseo Malanga are an 11-piece Cuban-inspired streetband, who play conga music.
They are wonderful.
The band accompanied us last year when we took part in the ITV Walk of Promise - see http://www.mswebpals.org/walk.htm
Bring as many friends as you can.
Do wear your Jooly's Joint t-shirts if you have them. If you don't, I'll bring a quantity with me on the day which I will be selling for 5 pounds each.
I really hope to see many of you there. It should be a great day.
Please let me know if you're coming so I can keep you updated.
