A 51-year-old Bremerton woman was charged with felony possession of marijuana after a roll of film she took in for processing showed her in a room amid several large marijuana plants, authorities said.
Velma Jean Shrefler said she used marijuana to ease the effect of multiple sclerosis but did not have a doctor's prescription, according to charging papers filed in Kitsap County Superior Court.
The papers said Shrefler took a roll of film to an Albertsons store in Silverdale in late April. At least one frame showed her in a room with several large marijuana plants, and another showed a March 2003 calendar -- damaging her claim that it was an old roll of film she'd found at home and that she didn't know what was on it.
Drug officers alerted by the store said they found five marijuana plants
at Shrefler's home, fewer than the number shown in the photo.
