A report in the Sunday Times of a potential MS treatment derived from goat serum has attracted considerable interest.
A small trial of the drug, Caprivax, is being carried out by Dr David Barnes at the Atkinson Morley Hospital in Wimbledon, part of the St George's Hospital Trust in Tooting, London.
The trial is looking to recruit people with secondary progressive MS who are able to walk but who have noticed a significant increase in disability over the last year. The trial requires participants to attend the hospital once a week for at least six months.
Referral is via a neurologist. Direct applications cannot be accepted.
As yet there is no published data on this drug and its effects on MS.
