A unique opportunity
now exists in Sligo to carry out in depth research of worldwide significance
into the causes of Multiple Sclerosis which currently affects thousands
of people in Ireland, said Fianna Fail County Councillor Dr Jimmy Devins.
"The expertise now
exists in county Sligo to conduct ground-breaking research into the condition,
and I'm pursuing all avenues to ensure that it is fully harnessed. I'm
particularly calling on the Health Research Board to make funding available
to facilitate this group of experts in carrying out epidemiological research
into MS," he said.
