MORE than 200 North Devon people affected by Multiple Sclerosis will now have easy access to information, advice and support at a new centre opened at Bideford Hospital.
The centre, which is open twice a week, has been set up in partnership by the North Devon branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and the North Devon NHS Primary Care Trust with the aid of a Millennium Award grant.
Ken Rowe, chairman of the North Devon branch, said: “The information centre is a marvellous new facility, staffed by fully trained volunteers with their own experience of MS, who can provide everything from support with managing symptoms to information on employment issues.”
An MS specialist will visit the centre every month and there is free
Internet searching. Following an official opening, it is now open on Mondays
from 2pm to 4pm and on Fridays from 10am to 1pm.
