24 July 2002
The Multiple Sclerosis Society is staging a national conference and information day for younger people affected by MS in London on Saturday 7 September 2002.
Said MS Society chief executive Mike O'Donovan, "MS tends to strike at the prime of live and the diagnosis of this very unpredictable disease can be devastating. MS Matters Live is the chance for the under 40s to ask their questions about living with MS and to meet each other in a relaxed and informal way."
Presentations will be made on the latest developments in research and treatment, with a keynote address from leading MS specialist Professor Alan Thompson of the Institute of Neurology and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. Other sessions will discuss personal relationships, employment issues and leisure activities.
MS Matters Live will take place at the Hilton London Metropole in Edgware
Road, near Marble Arch. For more information on the programme and booking
