The treatment of multiple sclerosis
in Victoria is about to receive a boost, with the establishment of a new
research and treatment centre in suburban Melbourne.
The MS Society has announced the
establishment of the National Neurological Centre at Blackburn in Melbourne's
east.
Chief Executive, Lindsay McMillan,
says it will become a centre of excellence in the study and treatment of
a range of neurological diseases.
"It will actually house the best
of the best advice and assessment of people with MS, to give them an understanding
of what is available to them, to have access to the best specialist advice
from a medical and a non-medical point of view," he said.
