The Institute’s Appraisal Committee meets today to consider the responses to the consultation on its provisional decision on beta interferon and glatiramer for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis.

The Final Appraisal Determination, which can take around a week to finalise, will be sent to the consultees involved in the process, including manufacturers of the drug and patient organisations.There will then be a ten working day appeal period in which the consultees may lodge an appeal.

The timing of the publication of the guidance is dependant on whether an appeal is lodged, and if so, the outcome of the appeal hearing.
