ADDISON, Texas (AP)
- The Eagles' Don Henley has rounded up members of the band to raise money
to combat multiple sclerosis.
Henley will perform
Saturday with Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, and Timothy B. Schmidt at an event
to raise money for researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern
Medical Center at Dallas.
Also performing will be former Fleetwood Mac vocalist Stevie Nicks and country star Trisha Yearwood. Organizers hope to raise $1 million in part from ticket sales from the sold-out event. In addition, Eagles fans will be able to bid for the chance to join the band in Europe during an upcoming summer tour.
Actor Ed Begley Jr. will host the evening's festivities.
MS is an incurable,
degenerative disease of the central nervous system that affects about 350,000
people in the United States.
