DNA (deoxyribose nucleic acid) is a large molecule containing our genes. DNA resembles a twisted ladder - a double helix. The ladder’s uprights are made of joined-up sugar molecules. Each of the rungs are made up of two of the four molecules, called bases, that spell out the genetic code and determine who each of us are.
